I'm trying to add my outlook.com account using the iphone add account in settings. It gives me an immediate error stating Unable to verify account information. Apple support told me that is a Microsoft issue.

There were several other reports regarding the same issue. Have you tried setting up your account using the Outlook mobile app instead?

That app requires ios13 or higher. Iphone 5s only supports ios12'

I'm having the same issue today on my iPhone 6. I changed the password on my pc for my account and now when I try to enter new password to view on my email app it will not authenticate.

If you are trying to use Outlook account in IOS mail app then please make sure you log with App password instead of using your own password.

I have Outlook email set up on IOS mail but that doesn't allow calendar and contacts to work. When trying to add Outlook.com account to phone I get the error and never get the option to provide a password.
